The square of the orbital period (T) is proportional to the cube of the semi-major axis (a):
T² = (4π²a³)/(G(M+m)) ≈ a³ (when M ≫ m)
Where:
T = Orbital period
a = Semi-major axis
G = Gravitational constant
M = Mass of central body
m = Mass of orbiting body (often negligible)
